Privacy Policy
Effective date: April 20, 2026
Antiflam is a product of Zero to Build LLC, a limited liability company registered in the State of Oregon ("we," "us," "our," or "the Company"). Antiflam ("the app") is an iOS application that helps users identify inflammatory foods and track how their body responds to what they eat. We take your privacy seriously. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
Important: Antiflam is a wellness and informational tool only. It is not a medical device, diagnostic tool, or substitute for professional medical advice. No data collected, displayed, or analyzed by the app — including HealthKit biometrics, inflammation scores, or trigger insights — should be interpreted as medical diagnosis or clinical guidance. Always consult a qualified healthcare provider for medical advice.
Data We Collect
Inflammation profile and quiz responses. When you take the onboarding quiz, your answers and resulting inflammation profile are stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. This data never leaves your device.
Food scans and journal entries. Photos you scan are sent to our secure API proxy, which forwards them to OpenAI's vision API for ingredient identification and inflammation scoring. We do not store your photos on our servers — they are processed in real time and discarded. The scan results (ingredient names, scores, and suggestions) are stored locally on your device.
Meal journal and check-in data. Your meal logs, symptom check-ins, feeling ratings, and notes are stored locally on your device. This data is not transmitted to any server.
Apple Health data. If you choose to connect Apple Health, the app reads sleep duration, heart rate variability (HRV), resting heart rate, and step count. This data is used solely to display correlations between your biometrics and food in the Insights dashboard. Health data is stored locally on your device and is never transmitted to our servers or any third party. We do not use Apple Health data for advertising, marketing, data mining, or any purpose other than displaying it to you within the app. You can disconnect Apple Health at any time through Settings, and existing journal entries will retain their biometric snapshots locally on your device. Biometric data displayed in the app is not clinically validated and should not be used for medical decision-making.
Subscription information. If you subscribe to Antiflam Premium, your purchase is processed by Apple through the App Store. We use RevenueCat to manage subscription status. RevenueCat receives an anonymous user identifier and your subscription status — no personal information such as your name, email, or payment details is shared with RevenueCat or us. See RevenueCat's privacy policy for details.
Analytics. We may collect anonymous, aggregated usage data such as which features are used and how often, quiz completion rates, and app session frequency. This data contains no personally identifiable information and is used solely to improve the app.
Data We Do Not Collect
- We do not require an account or login. There is no email, name, or personal identifier collected.
- We do not sell, rent, or share any user data with third parties for advertising or marketing.
- We do not store your photos on any server.
- We do not access your contacts, location, microphone (beyond system dictation), or any data beyond what is described above.
How We Use Your Data
- To score food items for inflammation using AI image analysis
- To display your personal food journal, symptom tracking, and insights locally on your device
- To correlate your food intake with biometric data from Apple Health (if connected)
- To manage your subscription status
- To improve the app through anonymous, aggregated usage analytics
Third-Party Services
- OpenAI — processes food photos for ingredient identification. Photos are sent via our secure proxy and are not stored. See OpenAI's privacy policy.
- Open Food Facts — provides product information for barcode scans. Only the barcode number is sent. See Open Food Facts' privacy policy.
- RevenueCat — manages subscription status using an anonymous identifier. See RevenueCat's privacy policy.
- Apple HealthKit — read-only access to sleep, HRV, heart rate, and steps. Data stays on device.
Data Storage and Security
All personal data (quiz results, meal logs, symptom check-ins, health data) is stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework and is protected by your device's built-in security (passcode, Face ID, or Touch ID).
Photo scans are transmitted to our API proxy over HTTPS (TLS encryption). Our proxy forwards the request to OpenAI and returns the result — no data is logged or stored on the proxy server.
Data Retention and Deletion
Since your data is stored locally on your device, you have full control over it at all times. You can delete all app data through Settings → Data → Reset All Data, or by deleting the app. There is no server-side data to request deletion of.
Children's Privacy
Antiflam is not intended for use by children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any data from children.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
